Ride the Narrow Gauge Railroad
The famous Georgetown Loop Railroad boards in Silver Plume and runs from Memorial weekend in May through mid October’s viewing of the aspen. Reserve your train ride well in advance, and join us for breakfast, lunch or tea before or after your ride during our regular summer and fall hours.
Historic Home Tours
Silver Plume and Georgetown (only two miles to the east) are part of Colorado’s Historic District. Each summer these turn-of-the-century mining towns alternate the opening of their historic homes and museums to visitors.
The 2008 home tours will be in Georgetown:
August 23 from 10am-4pm
August 24 from 10am-3pm
$20 for adults
$15 for students and senior citizens

Silver Plume Melodrama – Weekends in April and on the 4th of July
Cheer for the hero, boo the villain and swoon with the heroine in a fun and frisky 25-year old Silver Plume tradition where local stars and the audience participates. Boots, jeans and kids welcome. It’s a scrumptious supper buffet and hilarious theatre experience on our restored second-story burlesque stage on the top floor of our Town Hall. You can even bring your own libations! But come in the afternoon before the show begins to browse our antique shop and learn about the history of our mining town.

Triple Bi-Pass Bike Event ( http://www.teamevergreen.org )
Cyclist and runners know this unique event for its high altitude challenge and breathtaking scenery. Participants travel the canyon the hard way, pounding or peddling their way from Georgetown to the base of Loveland Pass. Both team and individual events are scheduled. Celebrate your efforts with nutritious, made-from-scratch items on our menu or relax after the race with steaming pots of teas from around the world.

4th of July Ice Cream Social
A two-town celebration of our Independence Day: a patriotic street parade in Georgetown followed by an Ice Cream Social in Silver Plume. Return to Georgetown at dusk for a splendid fireworks display over Georgetown Lake. Come spend the day in these historic towns only two miles apart. Stop in for breakfast or lunch. Visit the Rowe Museum or hike the Notch Trail from Silver Plume to Pavilion Point.
Christmas Teas
A four-course holiday tea is served Saturdays and Sundays the first three weekends of December normally scheduled at noon, two and four o’clock. High tea includes a tiered tower of delectable sandwiches and special pastries served at a table dressed in fine linens, antique china, candles and fresh flowers. Live music at the grand piano is a perfect accompaniment to your afternoon tea party. Evergreen bows and holly decorate our Victorian Antique Shop and Restaurant surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
